"When spares are spared when time is turned, when unseen children murder their fathers: then will the Dark Lord return. I will be reborn as the Dark Lord. I will bring my father back!"

—  Delphi's prophecy is written on the walls of her room.

Delphini, nicknamed Delphi
, is the illegitimate daughter of Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Black, making her Rodolphus Lestrange's stepdaughter. Although she initially introduces herself as the niece of Amos Diggory, Delphi is, in fact, the child of the Dark Lord himself, and her only goal is to restore her father. Being the only child of Voldemort, she can speak Parseltongue, which surprised Riddle as well when she told him that. However, Tom initially thought she was his maternal distant, long-lost cousin because he was the only one who could know or speak to snakes, given his knowledge.

She spent the first year of her life with the Rowles, entrusted with caring for the infant during the war. Her parents died on May 2, 1998, leaving her an orphan at an early age. She lived with the Rowles until she went to Amos Diggory's house when he was under the Confundus Charm on her.

Imprisonment and Escape (2020–)

Following her defeat and a third failed attempt to bring back her father and his evil reign, Delphini likely wanted to be imprisoned in Azkaban for the murder of Craig Bowker Jr. However, she escaped, somehow stealing Time Turner again, and returned in time.

Physical description

Delphini had long silvery hair with blue tips and a tattoo of black Augurey wings on her back near her neck. However, she dyed her hair blonde, a color similar to that of her maternal aunt Narcissa's.

Traits and personality

"Are you crawling away from me? Harry Potter. Hero of the wizarding world. Crawling away like a rat."

— Delphini taunting Harry Potter

Delphini was extremely calculating, demonstrating a keen intellect and profound talents for manipulation and exploitation, much like her father was when he was younger. Like Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange, Delphini was intensely sadistic, easily casting the Cruciatus Curse with malicious intent and proving to be a dangerous opponent for even Harry Potter. Aside from being malicious, Delphini was independent and highly determined, orchestrating a complicated plan to restore Voldemort without any immediate assistance that she didn't gain through manipulation or exploitation of other people, a trait Voldemort himself had possessed. She was ruthless and easily capable of killing in pursuit of her goals, or even being at the wrong place at the wrong time (i.e., Craig Bowker Jr.), another trait shown by both her parents. Despite being this dangerous for her ruthlessness and intelligence, Delphi was fierce-tempered. They could lose control of themselves if something didn't go according to plan, which happened to be another trait she had inherited from her parents. Her temper led to her attacking Harry Potter when he was revealed to have been disguised as Voldemort, as she was self-righteously angry that he had fooled her and destabilized her plan so much. When Harry and his friends defeated her, she begged for death or to be Obliviated, indicating that her pride had been crippled by her being beaten by him.

Similar to her father, Delphini had an obsession with Harry Potter to the point that she even claimed that she had studied him and knew him even better than her father ever did during his lifetime.

Despite having a very similar background as her father, such as being raised without knowledge of her parents for a long period after a relationship of a one-sided love (her mother's obsessive love was very much similar to that of her paternal grandmother's), and living under the guardianship of a strictly business-minded party without being loved for their entire childhood, Delphini deviated from Voldemort's consequential inability to love at all. Despite not knowing him personally, she had demonstrated tremendous devotion to her father. Unlike him, she aimed not for conquest, revenge, or destruction, but simply to be with him.

Magical abilities and skills

"AVADA KEDAVRA!!!"

— Delphini killing Craig Bowker Junior with the Killing Curse.

Passive Powers

  • Spell Casting - the ability to cast and make spells.
    • Confundus Charm: A spell that confuses. A person who is affected by this Charm is said to be Confounded. Delphi had used a Confundus Charm on Amos to make him believe so.
    • Cruciatus Curse (Crucio): This spell causes the victim to suffer almost intolerable pain. Delphi tortures Scorpius.
    • Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra): causes instant death in a flash of green light, usually leaving no sign of physical damage or of the cause of death that would be detectable to a Muggle autopsy. Delphi uses this spell to murder Craig Bowker Jr when he comes to find the two boys.
    • Expulso Curse (Expulso): the ability to produce immense explosions, blasting the target apart with a burst of blue light; it had enough force to throw people into walls. She was also capable of casting a very powerful Expulso Curse.
    • Disarming Charm (Expelliarmus): A charm that forced whatever an opponent was holding to fly out of their hand. It was common to see this spell used in duels to make an opponent lose their wand. She easily disarms Harry Potter with the Disarming Charm.
    • Locking Spell: Also known as the Locking Charm (Colloportus), it was a charm that closed and locked doors, making them so that they could not be opened manually.
    • Levitation Charm (Wingardium Leviosa): A charm used to make objects fly, or levitate.
    • Fire-Making Spell (Incendio): A charm that conjured a jet of flames that could be used to set things alight.
    • Fulgari: the incantation for a charm that produced vicious, luminous cords that bind an opponent's arms. She also used the charm Fulgari proficiently to bind Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy in luminous chords.
  • Potion Making - the ability to make potions.
    • Polyjuice Potion: A complex potion that transforms a person to look exactly like someone else. One dose lasts for one hour, but doses can be renewed by continuing to drink the potion. Delphi, Albus, and Scorpius can transform themselves temporarily into Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter to get into the Minister for Magic’s office.

Skills
  • Magical mastery: Even at a young age, Delphini proved herself to be a precociously gifted magical prodigy, as she was able to utilize and control magic, without the use of a wand or even knowing the very existence of magic itself, to an unnaturally high level: she had the power to move objects with her mind, to communicate with and control animals, and even inflict harm on those who opposed or annoyed her, which left even young Riddle astonished in 1943.
  • Control of underage magic: Even before being told that she was a wizard or having any knowledge of magic or the wizarding world at all, the young Delphini displayed an exceptional degree of control over her usage of underage magic, which she used to torment many of the other children. She was able to move objects with her mind, control animals to do her bidding, and even make bad things happen to those who annoyed her.
  • Dark Arts: Delphini demonstrated considerable talent for Dark Magic, using both the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse successfully. The use of both of these Unforgivable Curses requires power and ability, showing her to have been a powerful Dark witch. She was also capable of casting a very powerful Expulso Curse.
  • Occlumency: Delphini was exceptionally adept and gifted in the use of occlumency, being able to effectively shield her own mind. In the past, Delphi used this ability when Riddle tried to read her mind.
  • Dueling: Delphini was a highly skilled artist. She quickly defeated the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Harry Potter, and it took the combined might of him, Minister for Magic Hermione Granger, and seasoned duellists Ronald Weasley, Draco Malfoy, and Ginny Weasley to defeat her, showing her proficiency in martial magic.
  • Flying: Delphini was able to fly without support, much like her father, which itself is a remarkable magical feat few wizards and witches have ever been capable of doing.
  • Wandless and nonverbal magic: Delphini was gifted with Wandless magic, as she was capable of locking doors with her hands while confronting Harry Potter without using her wand. Her ability to cast spells without her wand meant she possessed potent magical skills, like her formidable parents. In the past, her wandless magic surprised Riddle while dueling with her. Also, she was able to do nonverbal magic and could move objects magically without the incantations to do so normally, using her hand like Harry Potter by throwing him to the ground.
  • Parseltongue: Delphini was a Parselmouth and could thus magically speak to snakes, a rare trait she inherited from her father, Lord Voldemort. She used the Parseltongue code to conceal her room.
  • Apparition: Delphini was exceptionally proficient in Apparition and could apparate with pinpoint accuracy even when locked in combat, using this ability to dodge and evade spells when dueling Harry Potter.
  • Intellectual genius: Delphini possessed an incredible, genius intellect, as her intellect is evidenced by her strategic cunning in being able to mastermind and orchestrate like his father, Lord Voldemort, did at his young age.
  • Charisma and manipulation: Delphini displayed a remarkable talent for the manipulation of others, being able to manipulate Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy to think of her as a kind person who wanted to help them in their noble (if not misguided) goal of bringing Cedric back to life, hiding her true agenda of bringing Voldemort back from death.
  • Acting skills: As with her father, Delphini was very talented in acting, projecting a personality completely different from her true motives. Using her acting skills, she was able to disguise herself as the caring niece of Amos Diggory. She made Albus and Scorpius think of her as a kind person who wanted to help them in their noble (if not misguided) goal of bringing Cedric back to life, hiding her true agenda of bringing Voldemort back from death. As in the past, Delphi used her acting skills even more, and Headmaster Dippet and Professor Slughorn believed her, except for Dumbledore and Riddle.

Possessions

  • Wand: Delphini owned a wand, which was of an unknown length, wood, and core. Delphini could perform potent magic with her wand, including the Dark Arts, and she used it extensively during her 2020 time-traveling mission.
  • True Time-Turner: She owned a time-turner at some point, which she stole from Potters; however, it got shattered when she landed back in time.

Relationships

Family:

Parents

It is unknown how Voldemort and Bellatrix felt about their daughter since they died while she was still a baby. Considering the love and admiration her mother had always had for the Dark Lord, the birth of their mutual daughter would likely have been a great joy and pride for Bellatrix. It is not known why Voldemort wanted a child, as he did not feel a need for love and disliked the idea of becoming emotionally attached to anyone. Harry, at one point, refers to Delphini as "The Ultimate Horcrux", implying that Delphini served as an alternative form of immortality for Voldemort. It is also likely that Salazar Slytherin was the only person Tom Riddle had apparent respect for; he wished to preserve the Slytherin bloodline into the 21st century, a feat which would have been impossible to achieve without reproduction.

Voldemort and Bellatrix kept her birth a secret, most likely because it may have placed her in danger since Voldemort was considered the most powerful and dangerous Dark wizard of the time, while her mother, Bellatrix Lestrange, was the Dark Lord's most loyal lieutenant and Death Eater.

Delphini was curious about her parents and wanted the opportunity to get to know them. She went to great lengths to meet and save her father, even going to great lengths to create a future where he lived, which shows she had some love for him. After she was defeated by her cousins Draco Malfoy, Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley, she begged for death instead of having to face the fact that she had failed her father.

Despite never knowing either of her parents up close, Delphini inherited many traits from them. She was cruel, sadistic, violent, manipulative, dominant, obsessive, and cunning. (It can also be said that she was talented and intelligent.) However, she also inherited both her parents' explosive tempers, blowing up whenever things didn't go her way.

 Other relatives

It is unknown whether her maternal aunt, Narcissa, knew about her, but it is likely since Delphi was born at her home. If Narcissa did know, then it is possible that she continued to keep the secret to protect not only her niece but also her own family from the public reaction to the idea that the Dark Lord had a child.

Delphi's cousin, Draco, did not know of her existence. By the time he discovered who she was, Draco had given up believing in the same Pureblood values his parents had, and when he met Delphi, he had no affection or sympathy for her and her attempt to revive Voldemort. Instead, he helped apprehend her and took her back to the future to be sent to Azkaban. As Draco had bad experiences around Delphi's father and didn't seem to have the best of relationships with her mother, who was his maternal aunt, any family loyalty to her would have been limited at best.

Her guardian, Euphemia Rowle, was not very fond of her. She only raised Delphi for a reward and always told her she would meet a sticky end. It appears that Euphemia did not see or treat her as a member of her family and simply kept her in her household for the sake of the money she received. And, she grudgingly agreed to care for Delphini Riddle--and, yes, mostly for the gold. As Delphini is currently an infant, Euphemia Rowle will also be responsible for dictating the actions of Delphini.

Allies:

Druella is Delphini's future maternal grandmother from Bellatrix Lestrange, being her future daughter in the erased future where Delphini comes from. The two become close friends with each other, even after Druella discovers Delphi is her granddaughter, and then she is happy and excited.

Walburga is Delphini's future maternal great-aunt from her brother, Cygnus Black III, who married Druella Rosier.

At first, they didn't get along well because Walburga saw how close Tom was to Delphi, and she was jealous of them. After he finds out that Delphini is from the future and is Riddle's daughter, then she starts to keep Delphi more and protect her. She began to act like a mother to him, which Delphi is not.

Romances:

Tom Riddle, known as Lord Voldemort and the Dark Lord, is Delphi's future father. He didn't know that Delphi was his daughter at first, but he was skeptical of her real existence and wanted to know more about her, even though he couldn't get into her mind because she was using some kind of  'shield' which he knew was Occlumency.

At some point, Riddle becomes more interested in her because she is also interested in dark magic and unforgivable curses like him.
